Panache Desai

Resting in the awareness of your breath
transforms your life into a living meditation.

Panache Desai has a strong YouTube presence.  We discovered Panache through word of mouth from a friend.  I remember, the first time we listened to him on YouTube, we thought he was great enough that we committed to doing his daily meditations on a regular basis.

It was, I think, about April of 2020, just after the COVID 19 pandemic started.  Panache was stepping up to do his part in quelling the fear, the anxiety, and the loneliness that people were beginning to experience as they were forced to isolate themselves from their normal daily work routines and social activities.

For the first year or so, he offered his meditations for no charge and then he started asking about 60$CDN per month for an All Access Pass to his entire website.  My wife and I both consider his offerings good value and expect to continue meditating with him every weekday for the foreseeable future.  Note that you can get his teachings at zero cost if you listen to him live instead of listening from his archives.  He lives in Nashville Tn.

We like Panache because he exposes his humanity so easily, without judgement, and encourages us to do the same.  He uses contemporary language and vernacular which serves to keep it real for us.  Mostly, we like Panache because we share his belief system, his intent for the world, and his intent for ourselves.   The quality of our lives is directly related to the quality of the thoughts and conversations we have with ourselves and Panache helps us relate to ourselves gently and with more effectiveness.

His underlying process is to rest in the awareness of our breath and transform our life into a living meditation.  He makes a distinction between the ego-self that I created and the Divine Self that our Higher Power has created for me and he encourages us as we journey away from our ego-self to our Divine Self ... a journey of no distance to a home we never left.

Post Script:  I don't know whether it's because of the cumulative effect (it is known that the benefits of meditation are cumulative) or for some other reason but I found Panache's meditation of Jan 6, 2022 to be particularly descriptive of my personal experience.  Here is his summary of the content ...

I'd like to tackle this notion, this false idea that life has to be hard and that life is a struggle.  It's important that we begin to recognize that life doesn't have to be hard.  The reason it was hard for your grandparents and parents is because they were engaging in life at the level of their identities and egos.

Of course life is hard when you are engaging in life as your ego and identity.  You are navigating this world with the limited part of yourself.  It's what you believe to be normal.

When you pivot out of your identity and operate from your soul, life becomes easy.

This is a copy of the introduction to Panache's meditation of Feb. 2, 2022.  I hope to add an audio file for the entire meditation sometime soon.

Some of you have your wires crossed. As a child, you marinated in an ocean of rage and falsely believed that rage equals love. Because of this, no matter how much you are willing to be freed of the rage, you won't let it go. Some of you marinated in chaos. Some you marinated in fear and insecurity. Some of you marinated in depression.

The unwillingness on the part of some of you isn't entirely your fault. It's just that your wires have been crossed as it pertains to love.

When you begin to think about how you grew up, and where you grew up, and what the dominant experience in your household was, your entire life will begin to make sense to you.
