Life is a Smorgasbord

Life is a smorgasbord: Everything (positive and negative) we could ever want, ever dream of, is there awaiting our choosing ...our receiving ... our allowing.

I think about life as a sandwich with birth and death as the two slices of bread.  As I live my life deciding what to include between the slices, I make decisions that impact on my experience.

As I mature ... as I become my own loving parent ...  I realize the consequences of my decisions and I can choose to re-decide; thereby, creating new experiences and new consequences.  It seems that many people (including myself for many years) go through life working this analogy on a trial and error basis.  What is so very exciting to me is that I have experienced that, if I go humbly to my Higher Power and ask for insight first, I can open myself to Divine Guidance which puts the odds in my favor ... and minimizes the pain and frustration in my living.

Continuing the analogy of the sandwich, if I choose turkey and then experience that turkey does not please me (or more importantly that it is not in my highest and best good), I simply swap out the turkey for beef or soya or something else which is more supportive of my Joyous experience.  As I learn to partner with my Higher Power, I can know, beforehand, whether turkey or soya is better for me; and, going the next step, I elevate my communication with the Divine … asking the Omniscience ... "What is the best filling to put between my  slices of bread?" !!  In this sense, I am co-creating with God.  I did not create the ingredients; but, I do make free will choices about how I live my life and what I put between birth and death ... my slices of bread.  And I can change and make new choices as guided to do so by my emotions and feelings.  My Higher Power has created all things good and has made all things accessible to me.  He has also given me the power to choose (free will).  In this sense, I create my own experiences.  Making a great and Joyous day my very real opportunity. How I feel in any given moment is an instant indicator.

The sun will rise and the sun will set; and, what happens in between is up to me

We want you to enjoy the contrasting experience, just like you enjoy the contrasting buffet. And we want you to reach the place that whenever you’re in front of a buffet that has so much that you do like to eat, as well as some that you don’t like to eat, you don’t feel frustrated that there are things there you don’t want to eat. You don’t feel compelled to put them on your plate and eat them; you just pick the things that you like. And the Universe of thought is the same way. You can choose from it the things that you like.
